The Green Team Formula Student participants managed to sprint from a standstill to 100 km/h (62 mph) in only 1.779 seconds, thus beating the previous record by 0.006 seconds. The amazing result was achieved with a 136 PS (100 kW) all-wheel drive fully electric vehicle designed for the Formula Student competitions. The machine features four electric motors and a 6.62-kWh battery package. The total weight stands at 160 kg and the power to weight ratio is 1.6 kg/kW. Just for comparison, the Bugatti Veyron Super Sport has a power to weight ratio of 2.08 kg/kW, while the Porsche 918 Spyderhas 2.5 kg/kW. The record is still unofficial as it has to be confirmed by Guinness World Records in the coming weeks.
